Hello, from the incoming "class of 2025" board

Hello SnoCo Makers! My name is Terence Tam, and I have been elected as the incoming President for SnoCo Makerspace, and will be taking office on January 1st, 2025. I am also currently serving as a Director on the board at SnoCo Makerspace, and will continue to serve as a director until the end of term at the end of 2025.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new incoming ‘Class of 2025’ board members:

Terence Tam -  President

Nathan Turner - Vice President

Debby Williams - Treasurer

Rhiannon Howard - SecretaryChas Ihler - Director, Position 1

Tom Bruhns - Director, Position 3

Josh DeWinter - Director, Position 2

Terence Tam - Director, Position 4

Additionally, I want to extend my thanks to Jeff Hollowell, who had for the past 6 months stepped into the role of President, and has helped immensely with new member onboarding.  Jeff will still be a member of the space, and will be providing help with running the Metal Shop area, while hopefully also having more time to enjoy the space.

I am proud of how far we’ve come, and all the improvements we’ve made, to SnoCo Makerspace in 2024.  Our organization now receives all of its income and dues, and the space is getting cleaner and more organized all the time.  We’ve added a podcast studio, revamped the Blue Room to support cosplayers and larger projects, completed updates to woodshop dust collection, along with many other small improvement projects.  We still have a ways to go though - we need to continue on our path towards financial stability, and we are looking forward to adding resin printing, a bigger hybrid CO2/Diode laser cutter, new electronics tools, and an airbrushing/painting station in the Orange Room as a value add to our members.  We will be continuing to make improvements in the wood shop for dust collection to make clean-up easier as well.

SnoCo Makerspace is a volunteer led and run organization, and what we do is only possible because everyday members step up to volunteer and contribute, whether it be their time, experience, materials, company matched funding or any of the many kinds of contributions our members help with.  If you would like to volunteer, teach a class, donate or help fix equipment (or learn to fix equipment - we are always happy to train!), or if you have ideas for improvement, please reach out to snocoleadership@snocomakers.org. In partnership,

-=- Terence
